A centre-spread article in this evening's Jersey Evening Post covers the history of Les Tchennevais (or as they insist on using the old-fashioned spelling; Les Quennevais). The meaning of tchennevais is given (without mentioning that, of course, it's Jèrriais), and the other Jèrriais connection is the name of the RM Stores - the RM standing for Rouoges Maîsons. Translate Rouoges Maîsons from Jèrriais into English and you end up with Red Houses. Now you know!
