Un but d'la Bibl'ye - Bible snippet

Aniet ch'est l'Ascension. Né v'chîn un texte des Actes 1: 6-11
Today is the feast of the Ascension. Here's a Jèrriais version of the description from the Acts of the Apostles, Chapter 1

Quand i' lus rassemblyîdrent don, i' lî d'mandîdrent: "Seigneu, ch'est-i' achteu l'heuthe qué tu rêtabliéthas l'rouoyaume d'Israël?"

I' dîdrent: "Hoummes dé Galilée, pouortchi qu'ou restez d'même mâtés à dgetter l'ciel? Chu Jésû tch'a 'té ramonté d'parmi vous ès cieux, r'veindra d'même qu'ou l'avez veu ramonter ès cieux."

êtablyi - to establish

Verb êtablyi is generally considered a verb of the finni pattern, but literary evidence exists that êtablyi has also been conjugated according to the êmaglyi pattern. This means that it behaves like remplyi with a potential double conjugation. Here therefore are the paradigms:

1925: Get rich quick

The Owl came up with some unlikely get-rich-quick schemes:

The Owl was lucky at cards in 1936:

1928: Ph'lip a à r'muer - Ph'lip has to move

Here's an article about having to find new accommodation:

A shining yellow car captured in a Jèrriais poem has vroomed into life

Bailiwick Express rapporte:

We’ve got this different thing going on between, the drift between different mediums, poetry, obviously writing and visual language and the haiku, being an ancient Japanese form; Jèrriais, being you know a wonderful ancient language; and then making it into something in the present, you know materialised in paintings.
