La Section de la langue Jèrriaise vos învite à eune gouôt'tie d'cidre pouor la Fête des Nouormands et la Journée Ûropéenne des Langues.
On Saturday 27 September from 12.30pm in the Members' Room, La Société Jersiaise, Pier Road
European Language Day this year falls on Friday 26 September, and across Normandy (and further afield) Normans will be celebrating Norman culture and identity over the weekend of 27-29 September. So La Section de la langue Jèrriaise with other Sections and organisations will be hosting a cider tasting quiz.
There will be six ciders to taste blind (small measures, but no need to spit it out!) and a tasting sheet with taste vocab in Jèrriais and English. How good is your palate? Can you match the identities of the ciders with their tastes? Will Jersey ciders top the rankings? Only you can decide, by coming along and pitting your tastebuds against the challenge – do it quickly or take your time.
There will also be Jèrriais literature on cider themes on display, and a selection of publications.
The event is free, but there will be a donations box to cover costs and contribute to Section funds.
