Sus la Gâzette du Sé - In the Jersey Evening Post

Liberation Day in Jersey 2-0162Sus la Gâzette d'hièr au sé y'avait eune articl'ye entouor la séthée d'nièr beurre ès Elms auve les mots "bachîn" et "rabot" (même si l's accents n'taient pon exactément bouôns... nou-s'avait fait d'san mus, sans doute - i' faut înstâller lé corrigieux d'êcrithie!)

Nou mentionnit deux fais l'nouvieau CD sus tchi Sadie Rennard chante Man Bieau P'tit Jèrri.

Yesterday's JEP had an article about the black butter making at The Elms. The article included the Jèrriais words for two of the vital implements, but if only they'd install the Jèrriais spellchecker on their system, it'd be easier to get the accents in the right place!

You can't have too many versions of Man Bieau P'tit Jèrri (Beautiful Jersey) and the long-awaited CD with Sadie Rennard singing everyone's favourite anthem is being launched at a concert on Saturday. And the JEP believes you can't have too many mentions of the fact - it got featured on two different pages.

And while we're on the subject of bachîns... it was reported that tickets are going on sale next month for the Sark Folk Festival 2012. L'Office du Jèrriais performed there this year and last year, so to avoid disappointment, book early.
