Eune boêtée d'scrits - a boxful of scripts

Nou nos a bailli eune boêtée d'scrits d'vielles pièches dé thiâtre (la pûspart fûtent présentées à l'Eisteddfod avaû l's années) par des difféthents auteurs.

We've been given a boxful of old playscripts (mostly some performed at the Eisteddfod over the years) by various authors.

These old papers have been used, with pencil and pen alterations, torn and stuck together, and it'll take some time to sort them out.

The Société Jersiaise Section has a project underway to anthologise some old plays in Jèrriais and this boxful will help the work.

There are also other manuscript texts in the box. How many other similar boxfuls of Jèrriais are there hidden away in people's houses? We'd really like to know! And there's no need to give us old family papers in Jèrriais - we'd be happy simply to take photocopies so that these texts can be saved as a valuable part of our heritage (alternatively, La Société Jersiaise can find a good home for old papers in Jèrriais).
