1916: Lonôre in sad distress

A little while ago, we were musing that it was surprising how Philippe Le Sueur Mourant managed to write what he wrote in the newspaper in those days. Here's another shocking example from a WWI humorous text recently added to les Pages Jèrriaises.

...P'tit a p'tit, j'vins a savé ch'qu'avait changi l'tempéthemment a m'n'èsfant. Ch'tait la nouvelle Loué sus la Milice! Ch'tait le m'zespé d'savé qu'bétot touos nos miyeu jeunes hoummes s'n'allaient hors l'ile pour se faithe tué ou r'venin en bédaches.

"J'taîmes déja très filles pour un garçon, mémée, d'vant le dgêrre," qu'ou s'fit, tandi qu'ses larmes ruis'laient avaut san nez et tchiyaient dans l'gardefeu - il resté roui d'pis. "Tchès qu'jé s'a après a dgerre si les siens qui nos restent son enviés dans les tranchies? N'y'étha pas un garçon pour siéz filles, quand tout s'a fini! et l'pus bé des siens qui r'vindront s'ont sans gambes, san bras, aveuglyes, et avrônés un mio sus toutes les couôtuthes!" Et la r'véla qui s'r'èsgouffe a braithe...
