The National Trust for Jersey’s restoration of 16 New Street is getting a festive boost from sales of the Liberation Brewery’s Christmas Ale. For the second year running the Channel Island’s very own seasonal tipple features a classic local ingredient, Jersey black butter made by the National Trust at a three-day-long community event at The Elms in October. In return, the brewery’s owner, the islands’ largest pub and drinks company, the Liberation Group, will donate 10p from every pint of the Liberation Christmas Ale sold during its limited run. The money raised will pay for the specialist lighting of the entrance hall to the historic building. Liberation Christmas Ale will be officially launched at the Fête dé Noué celebrations in the Royal Square on Thursday, 2 December at 6pm, where samples of the beer will be available outside the Cock and Bottle pub.
