Americans write the month before the date, so the fourteenth of March is Pi Day since they write 3.14 (a rounded version of the mathematical number pi). In 2016 Pi Day (a day to celebrate maths) can be written by them 3.14.16, which adds an extra two figures to the rounded number. For Jèrriais speakers, having π feet would scarcely be practical!
