"Pete Webb is a blue badge guide and as part of his Theatre Land tour, he's explaining why the Opera House, the Arts Centre and other old playhouses are so special.
He told us: "Its opening night was wonderful, on the 9th of July 1900, when they brought the finest artist you could possibly wish for Jersey. It's very own talent, Lilly Langtry. And she performed her eon stage, but before she performed a magical thing she did, she did a speech to the audience in the local language Jerriais. She had a standing ovation before she even started.""
