The warmest place in the British Isles

Jersey renowned the year roundJèrriais gets a brief mention at the end of an article in today's Guardian: Isles of Scilly turn heat on Jersey over 'warmest place in Britain' claim.

Some sunny vocabulary:

  • Jèrri l'ensolilyi = sunny Jersey
  • lé solé = the sun
  • lé solé lit = it's sunny/the sun is shining
  • fait-i' caud! = how hot it is!
  • i' fait eune arsion = it's sweltering
  • au tchoeu du solé = in the heat of the day
  • sé solilyi = to sun oneself, sunbathe
